City dining and food culture, explained.

About

Firt Food Culture is an independent publication about how cities eat. We are a small team of writers, editors, and lifelong market-goers who believe that food is the clearest window into a place: its history, its geography, its values, and its daily life.

We do not review restaurants or chase trends. Instead we write guides to the enduring things: the rhythm of a great market, the craft behind a street vendor's single perfect dish, the customs that govern a shared table, and the festivals through which a city celebrates itself. Our examples range as widely as we can make them, because good food culture is not the property of any one city or cuisine.

Everything we publish is meant to be useful long after you read it. Our aim is simple: to help you understand what you are eating and why it matters, wherever in the world you happen to sit down.
